Israeli Philanthropists' Forum

The Philanthropists' Forum offers Israeli philanthropists and people of wealth opportunities to meet, talk, learn and be inspired about giving. The Forum harnesses the power of philanthropic role models from Israel and overseas to engage others in conversation and action.  Such meetings are borne from an understanding of Sheatufim's founders that giving can be solitary experience if not for the value of shared intelligence and collective experiences with philanthropic peers.  Forum meetings are free, confidential and by invitation only.

Forum meetings include:

  • Peer learning
  • Access to knowledge and tools about philanthropy - strategies, major players, how-to's
  • Introduction of up-to-date social issues
  • Networking with potential partners who share common areas of interest

Topics of previous Forum meetings included:

  1. Venture philanthropy in Israel - an open discussion with panelists Orni Petrushka, Avner Stepak and Eilon Tirosh
  2. Women in philanthropy: the unique characteristics of women's philanthropy - does it create a different social agenda - with Dr. Debra Mesch and Dr. Una Osili
  3. Investment in advancement of women in Israel - with Anat Hoffman, Samah Salaime Egbariya, and Sharona Izraeli Watemberg
  4. Moving beyond traditional grants: social investing and social capital markets - with Kylie Charlton and Hanoch Barkat
  5. Spotlighting different giving strategies:  Avi Naor, Ori Slonim and Sara Sela share their personal story and strategy with their peers.

The Philanthropists' Forum is a program of Sheatufim's Center for Philanthropy, which is dedicated to promoting and supporting a large, influential and responsible philanthropic community in Israel.  The Center works with Israeli philanthropists and those contemplating their social agenda, creates platforms for collaboration, expands information and knowledge in the field, and advocates for policy which encourages private giving.
